Betalains to the rescue!
There is a group of special nutrients designed to balance inflammation. If you have taken Nopalea, you’ve probably heard of it’s main ingredient, Betalains. The Betalains are very concentrated and found in the beautiful burgundy fruit of the Nopal cactus. They are a class of antioxidants that help rescue cells by helping your body put out the fire of inflammation. Toxins are then drained away from the cell and Betalains seep into the cell, reinforcing and returning the cell to good health. Betalains also help a special immune system cell called a macrophage (Big Eater) to engulf any dead or diseased cells that are beyond repair. These macrophages help eliminate the dead cells from your body.
Daily servings of Nopalea will provide the Betelains that will help relieve inflammation and rescue cells under attack from free radicals. Even better, Betalains act to clean up the dead cells and help protect them against becoming a target for sickness and illness. Betalains will help you thrive as they help your body control inflammation and support the wonder of homeostasis.
The more we can protect our body from assault and help detoxify and rebuild our cells, the healthier we can be, and the more gracefully we may age. We know now that the body’s exposure to toxins, direct trauma, nutrient deficiencies and stress can cause runaway inflammation and free radical damage. The Betalains in Nopalea help protect your body against toxicity and reduce the inflammation that can lead to grave illnesses.

Betalains are new to me. I Googled them after reading your post and found that they are very concentrated in nopal cactus fruits. No wonder they look so tasty to me! They grow plentifully in San Diego county and I often want to stop and pick some. My body must be hungering for betalains
Hi, Lauren,
Yes, indeedy, those cactus fruits are awesome, sweetie! Native people of the Sonoran Desert have used the fruits to not only live, but thrive in that extreme desert environment. The Nopal cactus fruit is a main ingredient in Nopalea. It is deee-licious and good for you, too.
Thanks for stopping.

Hi Fran,
I think many people (including me most times) overlook the fact that cures and medicines are dirived from nature.
Hacking down the rainforests is a sure way for us to lose so many natural answers to our ailments. Years ago people had no medicine cabinet or GP to prescribe copious quantities of drugs…
Progression is great and necessary but sometimes the natural way is overlooked
Thank you for the heads up
Vince
Hi, Vince,
You are absolutely right. People are rediscovering what native cultures have known and used to stay healthy for hundreds of years.
Thanks for stopping,
Fran T.

Hi Fran,
Thanks for the excellent health tips on betalains. I had no idea!
My husband and I both adhere to natural remedies, stress reduced lifestyles, eating good, clean food and living and breathing in a harmonious, peaceful state of being.
Neither of us have been to the doctors for years… simply no need.
I haven’t yet checked through your other blogs – but I assume you are aware of the benefits of eating coconut oil on a daily basis. If not – check out ‘The Coconut Oil Miracle’ or ‘Coconut Cures’. I’m sure you can find them on Amazon.
Great site.
Joelle
Hi, Joelle,
I just discovered coconut oil and LOVE it. Using coconut oil sound a little “nutty” but it sure does
give the food a wonderful clean and light taste. I have used it in scrambled and fried eggs. YUMMY!
Thanks so much for sharing,
Fran T

Thank you so much for this valuable information. Very useful indeed. . . . .
Dr. Oz recently named the Prickly Pear Cactus as one of the seven wonders of the world. Nopalea (made from the prickly pear cactus) is renowned for its anti-inflammatory properties. It is said that inflammation is the root cause of many diseases and chronic discomforts. It is also believed that Nopalea juice is chock full of antioxidants and a property called betalains which contains many of the B vitamins and minerals.
Fantastic article here Betalains to the rescue! | STOPINFLAMMATION.ORG, man. I’ve understand your stuff previous to and you’re just extremely excellent. I really like what you have acquired here, really like what you are saying and the way in which you say it. You make it enjoyable and you still take care of to keep it sensible. I can not wait to read far more from you. This is actually a wonderful web site.I’ve added your site to my Blogroll here http://summer-weight-loss.org
I like Nopalea; it does help reduce my lower back pain. I tried it for 2 months and didn’t really notice anything. Then I stopped it for 3 days and I could hardly get off the couch. I took 2 oz and I felt fine the rest of the day. However, it’s way way expensive. Does anyone know of any alternative anti-inflamatory supplements that contains betalains?
I like the helpful info you provide in your articles. I will bookmark your Betalains to the rescue! | STOPINFLAMMATION.ORG article and check again here regularly. I am quite sure I will learn lots of new stuff right here! Good luck for the next! Also, I have added your web site to my Blogroll here http://musclebuildingfacts.info/
You know, there is a way you could get your Nopalea without spending any extra money. If you are interested in something like this, please let me know.
Sound like something you might be interested in?
Hi there Darcy Georgeson here. Have you ever thought about creating an e-book or guest authoring on other blogs? I have a blog based upon on the same information you discuss at http://stopinflammation.org/betalains-to-the-rescue/ and would really like to have you share some stories/information. I know my subscribers would enjoy your work. If you’re even remotely interested, feel free to shoot me an e mail.
Thank you for sharing about Nopalea. I’ve read that it can positively effect breathing. I have “pulmonary fibosis”…and wonder if you have seen any results on this product’s use for same.
Thanks Again,
Frank Ponce
Hi, Frank
You actually have a GREAT question. My grandson used to always get really bad allergies with a runny nose and cough. I would have to take him to the doctor, who would
prescribe anti-biotics, cough syrup and anti histamines. Not too mention how big his tonsils would be. It was inflammation. After drinking between 2-4 ounces a day, he can now
breathe easier, sleeps all night WITHOUT snoring (because of his big tonsils which are no longer big!) and we don’t go to the doctor’s anymore. I would encourage you to drink
Nopalea. It’s guaranteed. What do you have to lose? Let me know you like it.
Hi Fran,
I was reading that beets also have betalains. I wonder how they compare to the Nopalea in regards to betalains potency? Might be a good alternative? Would the prickly pears from the Cactus here in South Texas have betalains similar to Nopalea? Just wondering. They do sell those prickly pears at the supermarket when in season. Never paid much attention to them before, but won’t pass them up next time. Good job on the article.
The red ‘fruits’ are called Tunas in spanish so…
I called the local mexican grocery store and sure enough
They carry them!I will be making a smoothie with these little guys!
My grandma had a huge pricklypear in Tracy ca where its HOT. She didnt eat any of it but still made it to 94 without any meds GARLIC was a staple in her diet to lower blood pressure.
I also ordered a bottle of Nopalea to see what happens for my old stiff lower back..will report back here
