			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>First off, we should consider what inflammation is and how it can affect our health.</p>
<p>Inflammation is a build-up of toxins that invade your body at a cellular level.  This can come from many different sources.<br />
There are allergens in the air we breathe and in the water we drink.  Being overweight can contribute to inflammation.<br />
That is one reason why the medical profession will suggest losing weight whenever  we go in complaining about creaky and painful knees.  Then there is also the stress of life.  Juggling work and home life.  Getting the kids to practice and club meetings.  Then there&#8217;s the actual games and homework.  The list goes on and on.<br />
We could take the over the counter drugs that are so easily available.  Have you ever actually read the warning labels on the side of those bottles?   The ones that plainly state liver damage as a result of using the product?!  I know I never paid much attention to them until I decided I should make more of an effort to know and understand what the results are of the drugs I put into my body.  Even stuff, like aspirin.  Ibuprofen and acetiminophen.   Just to name a few.<br />
If you do a little more research on the side effects of medication, it is eye opening to say the least!  There are very valid reasons for those little pieces of paper you get from the pharmacy when your prescriptions from the doctor&#8217;s office are filled.  I dare you to read them&#8230;.<br />
That brings me back to the question of &#8220;How do you want to reduce inflammation?&#8221;<br />
Do you want to use something that will possibly harm other parts of your body while masking the symptoms of chronic inflammation with  temporary relief?  Or do you want to get rid of the inflammation AND feel better and IMPROVE your<br />
overall health?<br />
As for me, I really want to get rid of inflammation AND feel better and IMPROVE my overall health.<br />

<p>** True Story of Rudolph**</p>
<p>A man named Robert L. May, depressed and brokenhearted,<br />
stared out his drafty apartment window into the chilling<br />
December night.</p>
<p>His 4-year-old daughter Barbara sat on his lap quietly<br />
sobbing.</p>
<p>Bobs wife, Evelyn, was dying of cancer.</p>
<p>Little Barbara couldn&#8217;t understand why her mommy<br />
could never come home. Barbara looked up into her<br />
dad&#8217;s eyes and asked, &#8220;Why isn&#8217;t Mommy just like<br />
everybody else&#8217;s Mommy?&#8221;</p>
<p>Bob&#8217;s jaw tightened and his eyes welled with tears.</p>
<p>Her question brought waves of grief, but also of anger.<br />
It had been the story of Bob&#8217;s life. Life always had to<br />
be different for Bob.</p>
<p>Small when he was a kid, Bob was often bullied by<br />
other boys.</p>
<p>He was too little at the time to compete in sports.<br />
He was often called names he&#8217;d rather not remember.<br />
From childhood, Bob was different and never seemed<br />
to fit in.</p>
<p>Bob did complete college, married his loving wife and<br />
was grateful to get his job as a copywriter at Montgomery<br />
Ward during the Great Depression. Then he was blessed<br />
with his little girl. But it was all short-lived. Evelyn&#8217;s bout<br />
with cancer stripped them of all their savings and now Bob<br />
and his daughter were forced to live in a two-room<br />
apartment in the Chicago slums.</p>
<p>Evelyn died just days before Christmas in 1938.</p>
<p>Bob struggled to give hope to his child, for whom he<br />
couldn&#8217;t even afford to buy a Christmas gift. But if he<br />
couldn&#8217;t buy a gift, he was determined a make one &#8211; a<br />
storybook!</p>
<p>Bob had created an animal character in his own mind<br />
and told the animal&#8217;s story to little Barbara to give her<br />
comfort and hope.</p>
<p>Again and again, Bob told the story, embellishing it<br />
more with each telling.</p>
<p>Who was the character? What was the story all about?</p>
<p>The story Bob May created was his own autobiography<br />
in fable form. The character he created was a misfit<br />
outcast like he was.</p>
<p>The name of the character? A little reindeer named<br />
Rudolph, with a big shiny nose.</p>
<p>Bob finished the book just in time to give it to his little<br />
girl on Christmas Day.</p>
<p>But the story doesn&#8217;t end there.</p>
<p>The general manager of Montgomery Ward caught<br />
wind of the little storybook and offered Bob May a<br />
nominal fee to purchase the rights to print the book.<br />
Wards went on to print, &#8220;Rudolph the Red-Nosed<br />
Reindeer&#8221; and distribute it to children visiting Santa<br />
Claus in their stores.</p>
<p>By 1946, Wards had printed and distributed more than<br />
six million copies of Rudolph.</p>
<p>That same year, a major publisher wanted to purchase<br />
the rights from Wards to print an updated version of<br />
the book.</p>
<p>In an unprecedented gesture of kindness, the CEO of<br />
Wards returned all rights back to Bob May.</p>
<p>The book became a best seller.</p>
<p>Many toy and marketing deals followed and Bob May,<br />
now remarried with a growing family, became wealthy<br />
from the story he created to comfort his grieving daughter.</p>
<p>But the story doesn&#8217;t end there either.</p>
<p>Bob&#8217;s brother-in-law, Johnny Marks, made a song<br />
adaptation to Rudolph.</p>
<p>Though the song was turned down by such popular<br />
vocalists as Bing Crosby and Dinah Shore , it was<br />
recorded by the singing cowboy, Gene Autry.</p>
<p>&#8220;Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer&#8221; was released in<br />
1949 and became a phenomenal success, selling more<br />
records than any other Christmas song, with the<br />
exception of &#8220;White Christmas.&#8221;</p>
<p>The gift of love that Bob May created for his daughter<br />
so long ago kept on returning back to bless him again<br />
and again. And Bob May learned the lesson, just like<br />
his dear friend Rudolph, that being different isn&#8217;t so<br />
bad. In fact, being different can be a blessing.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t you just LOVE stories like this?  What an inspiration.  </p>

<p>Just the thought of &#8220;Thanksgiving&#8221;, which is the start of the holiday celebrations in the States, gets each and every one thinking of what we have to be thankful for.  We can start with being thankful for family.  And friends.  And where we live.  And how we live.  Even for having been born in the country we were born in.</p>
<p>Being grateful can help with stress levels.  Gratitude is also an ally in fighting stress.  Grateful people tend to be more optimistic which is a characteristic that boosts the immune system.  </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Seems like I just turned around and summer was over, school started and NOW it is October!   Where did the time go?</p>
<p>Fall is in the air.  Halloween costumes are on the racks.  Pumpkins are in the grocery aisle.<br />
Apples, apples everywhere!  Crunchy leaves to walk through in the neighborhood.  I had a great Golden Retriever.  We called him Bubba and he was the BEST dog!  He loved to go on walks and especially liked walking through the crunchy leaves.  Oh, yeah.  He would smile and laugh while he was doing it&#8230;.LOL!  I do believe that dogs and cats can smile and laugh.  I haven&#8217;t had but one in my whole life who did.  That was Bubba!  What a blessing he was.  He has passed on since then.  He is sorely missed.  I haven&#8217;t gotten another dog because he was so special!  It would be hard to find another like him.</p>

<p>Sometimes we ask the wrong questions when we start to experience disharmony in our body. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We just had the most beautiful rain here in the Land of Enchantment!  Any kind of sustained rainfall is very much appreciated here.  That is just what we had.  I think it&#8217;s supposed to rain all day tomorrow too.  Lovely!</p>
<p>Atmospheric highs and lows with the corresponding painful joints and muscles are ways some people tell the weather without looking at the weather channel.   Some people can tell if it&#8217;s going to rain or snow (moisture) by joint pain.  Some people may find this kind of weather forecasting hard to let go of.  Others would be relieved to get rid of the pain and swelling when  weather changes occur.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Do you ever wonder how a cut or bruise heals after a certain amount of time?  I remember when I was a  kid and would get scrape my knees playing outside.  I would ask my mom why my knee would hurt.  Her answer was you are alive and your body is knitting things back together.  She told me what I was feeling was the healing process.  </p>
<p>The scientific community actually has a term for this.  Homeostasis is a process that activates the immune system, hormones, nerves and other important body systems to start the healing process.  Homeostasis arranges the cells in your body to maintain balance, even under the severe conditions caused by physical and/or emotional stress, injury,  or illness.</p>
<p>There are times when the body isn&#8217;t able to heal itself because of the problem of runaway inflammation.  This runaway inflammation is the result of the body&#8217;s exposure to toxins, direct trauma, nutrient deficiencies and stress.  A cell overwhelmed by inflammation can become damaged beyond repair causing the cell to prematurely die  (scarcopenia).  These damaged, dead cells must be removed from the body or they will become the focus of infection and illness.   The symptoms of inflammation may be recognizable because of pain, redness, stiffness and swelling.  We, or a loved one have all been at this point.</p>
<p>My question:  What strategies have you used to remove these dead cells and protect the healthy ones from the excess inflammation?</p>

In a healthy body, once an injury or trauma occurs the inflammatory response rushes into action in an  immediate attempt to heal itself.  In a healthy body once an injury heals the inflammation goes away.  When there is an imbalance in the body tissues and the immune system this process doesn&#8217;t get turned off.  The white blood cells continue to attack and the inflammation becomes chronic.  If this situation is not stopped a person can develop serious health problems such as heart attack, stroke or cancer.  This body imbalance can be caused by many different factors like stress (mental or physical), being overweight, a diet rich in processed foods or a sedentary lifestyle. </p>
<p>One option to treat inflammation is to take a natural inflammatory.  Yes, these natural anti-inflammatory solutions are available and can be very effective.  Being well rested has lot&#8217;s of benefits.</p>
